About Our Firm

Atlanta Attorneys

Firm history

After graduation from Emory University’s School of Law in 1980, James A. Goldstein began working for a small law firm, which represented the leading banks and corporations on the south side of Atlanta. Jim’s capabilities were quickly noticed and he was made a partner in less than three years, the fastest rise ever in the firm. After successfully defending Fulton County and other entities in a series of wrongful death trials, Jim concluded that his talents would be better utilized representing injury victims.

Jim split from the firm in the mid 1980’s and founded what is now Goldstein & Hayes, PC, an Atlanta, Georgia, personal injury law firm. While the name of the firm has changed from time to time, Jim has been the senior, first name partner and lead trial attorney in every practice he has been a part of since 1986. He has been directly responsible for attaining the multitude of million dollar plus recoveries upon which the reputation of his firm is based.

Jonathan P. Hayes clerked for the firm prior to attending law school, returning during summer vacations and holidays. Following his graduation, Jonathan immediately assumed a full caseload including case preparation and trial presentation. In 2005, Jonathan was offered and accepted a name partnership—a recognition of his unusually high quality of work and proven litigation capabilities. In a relatively short time, Jonathan delivered numerous million-dollar-plus recoveries and he recently established legal precedent and national attention for expansive penalties for intentional corporate evidence destruction.

Jim Goldstein and Jonathan Hayes are dedicated to seeking maximum compensation for people. Their goal is to give people the resources they need to begin rebuilding their lives after a serious injury or death.

Attorneys who can make a difference in your life

Our accident lawyers have helped people who have been injured because of trucking accidents, automobile accidents, negligent security, dangerous property conditions, defective products, medical negligence, and swimming pool accidents. Our clients are people with injuries such as:

We provide people with support and a vigorous effort to obtain funds after a wrongful death. We know that no amount of money can fill the hole left by the death of family member. However, having needed resources eliminates one source of stress for grieving families.

Philosophy and attitude

Goldstein & Hayes, PC has received the highest rating available from Martindale Hubbell, an independent service that gauges legal abilities based on the opinions of other lawyers, not advertising dollars. While we occasionally lecture, teach and author publications, we differ philosophically from firms that avail themselves to every marketing and self-promotion opportunity. Many lawyers trumpet their victories but say little about their losses that could have and should have been avoided. We are pleased to have been able to establish an enviable history without ever placing the firm's interests ahead of our clients.

Our lawyers take the time to get to know the families we represent, which allows us to tailor our strategies to their specific strengths. We strive to show our appreciation of the trust that they have placed in us. We view and treat those we are privileged to represent as our friends and encourage their calls and questions. While the tone of the firm is casual, our work product is second to none. To help you decide if our personalities, style and approach are a good match for you, we recommend a free personal consultation.
